I'm Melanie Bagby and I'm running for reelection to the Cloverdale City Council
First elected in 2016, I brought my experience as a technology professional, a Cloverdale Planning Commissioner, and member of the Sonoma County Economic Development Board. Since then, I've taken that experience and prioritized public safety and resiliency, never backed away from difficult community discussions and hard decisions, and represented you on regional boards fighting for our water, air quality, reliable energy and infrastructure, city-centered development, and smart transportation solutions.
In Sacramento, I've lobbied for Cloverdale and other rural cities on issues ranging from broadband, to homelessness, to infrastructure and badly needed economic development tools—arguing that solutions for the challenges we share with larger cities should be right-sized for us. I even had an opportunity to speak directly to Governor Newsom about the devastating effects of last year's PSPS and gas outage and the barriers to solving this issue we face as a small city.
I bring this experience, integrity, and accessibility to the job as I ask for your vote for a second term.
In the midst of the pandemic, it's clear that our families, businesses, and community will never be the same. Any yet, I'm optimistic about Cloverdale's ability to reinvent itself—as it has so many times in its long, rich history—and for our residents to resiliently adapt and take care of each other today and into the future.
Every day, I work to foster innovation in our city operations, help move construction projects forward, and lobby our representative to ensure Cloverdale gets our fair share of resources and investment. Your vote will keep me working for you. Learn more about my background and goals.
